ICLW July...second time lucky

  • Well last ICLW I discovered I was not on the list and had feared the same thing had happened this month despite completing the form...but hurrah...I have just discovered 2 lovely comments on my blog so it's worked this time...I already have one day to catch up on. Time to revive my blog!
  • I am 17 weeks pregnant as of yesterday and haven't felt much like blogging about it recently so I think my next few posts will be a bit random, I have lots of other things on my mind.
  • Not much to add to my intro/info, I live in South America, we needed ICSI for male factor IF, 2nd time lucky with our x2 embryo transfer (2 left which were Grade B)
  • I will be having an early 20 week anomaly scan at 18.2 before I fly to the UK for my annual trip home to friends and family.
  • I'm very anxious about flying (at the best of times) and I'm having lots of nightmares involving ridiculous scenarios mid air so I'm trying to be rational about flying in pregnancy but it's hard.
  • I will be breaking our good news for the first time when we are back in England so I am excited and nervous too. It will be the first time I have seen any of my family or friends for a year and what a year it's been, needing ICSI, 2 operations, a failed fresh cycle and a pregnancy.
  • What else...I'm never more than a few weeks away from mild brown (not spotting) just a little discharge so I live in fear of it returning, despite normal scans, closed cervix and reassurance that it's 'just one of those things' it's very hard to relax and think to far ahead.
  • And...while my world has been turned upside down in the past few years I have managed to continue with my passion for art. I have exhibited but not sold anything (maybe a few years down the line). Most of the work I have come up with recently has no real subject it's more about purging my frustration and just enjoying putting contrasting colours along side one another until I feel the page is 'balanced'...very childlike.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I look forward to discovering lots of new and inspiring blogs this week :)

  3. I'm sure I saw you on the ICLW list last month! Maybe I just assumed because I saw your comments about on other blogs.

Good to hear things are going fairly well (scary brown discharge aside) and that you are feeling confident enough to share the news.

Btw thanks for your support after my failed cycle. I'm just coming out of my blog-aversion to say thanks to people. As you know it's pretty horrible when a cycle fails, and it's taken me a couple of weeks to check my blog list to see what people are up to.

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! I hope you get great news at your upcoming scan!

I hope you don't mind my asking...where do you live in South America? My SIL is from Brazil. Also, where will you be visiting in the UK? I spent three weeks in London and it's truly one of my favorite places on the planet.

Happy and safe travels to you.

  6. Hey there. Thanks for visiting. Exciting that you're 17 weeks. Good luck telling family. I've had a hard time keeping it a secret so all my key peeps know.

The brown discharge sounds really scary. And yucky! I'm still on Endometrin so I'm used to goo coming out of my hooha but fortunately it's only been white and chalky.

Good luck with everything and have a great trip!

  10. Thank for all your lovely comments. My pregnancy is certainly not a secret just got loads of people left to tell in UK as we've kept it 'quiet' and away from FB as life here is too 'online' so worth the wait for breaking news in person.
Very nervous about flight but been assured that no harm in 2nd trimester to me or baby therefore no need to cancel. I think I might explode if I don't go home. Life here in this strange land is exhausting!
Thanks for your support...looking forward to following your blogs :)

  12. Congrats on your pregnancy! I had some amount of bleeding several times when I was pregnant and it was really scary. They told me the same thing, everything was fine, this just happens, blah blah. They told me what I had was a friable cervix. My cervix was totally fine but if you poked it, it would bleed a little bit. This was determined by my doctor poking it with a really long q-tip. Very high tech. Anyway, all that to say that everything turned out fine for me but it was still very unnerving. Have hope though, everything can be okay and I'm sending you lots of good thoughts for a happy, healthy pregnancy. Good luck to you!
